Even then, after this experience, I would take it one step more and check the DDoS attacks to see if they are causing internet congestion.īut today for some reason, Star Forge is using 159.153.65.222 #Pingplotter reliable download#I would suggest to everyone that has lag issues in the game to download Pingplotter to help diagnose where the real issues are. I will continue to monitor my own experiences and see if that happens again. You can’t always blame the servers or Bioware because it’s not always them. If that wasn’t the reason for it, then it was a mighty coincidence because since those attacks stopped, everything is fine. Now this is what I saw, I can’t say for sure that’s what caused the lag in the game and on Ping Plotter. If I didn’t use WTFast, I don’t think I would have even thought about checking the DDoS attacks because Pingplotter only showed the problem connecting through the Washington level3 back haul. These continued and nearly corresponded with the spikes and high stats in Ping Plotter.Īfter about 45mins, they stopped and swtor and Ping Plotter returned to my normal ping. During that period of time the east coast was having problems, there were massive burst attacks leaving the US east coast towards India, then South America, China and Central EU. ![]() So I took a wild guess and decided to look up live DDoS activity world wide. I checked most of the east coast destination routes that WTFast has and it made no difference, Except this time it didn’t fix the ping problems of 350-500ms. Usually that’s an easy fix with WTFast because I can change the routing to go around it and bypass Washington altogether. Ping Plotter showed the level3 (Washington) back haul connection to the EA network had massive problems which propagated all the way to the servers. So I turn off WTFast and connected direct to see if I could see anything on Ping Plotter. Which means using pingplotter with it is pointless. I usually use WTFast to reduce my ping because I’m in Australia. Today about 45mins ago, lag in swtor was terrible. So I thought I would report my observations from the last few days when I’ve seen this happen. There are lots of reports of people having swtor lag and spikes lately on a few other threads and in the game. But I think I will PM him again if it’s not fixed by Monday. ![]() Up until now I’ve not reported it to Keith because I like to give it a month to resolve (unless it’s really bad). There is obviously a problem again, it’s unclear wether it’s internal or something causeed from the that particular back haul or that “EA ISP connection”. It can add 20-100ms spikes, but mostly I’m seeing 30-40ms spikes on a regular basis every minute or less. Now the problem has started to reoccure and I’m seeing the second EA network hop fluctuate a lot. Back then, Keith worked hard to get those fixed and I was fine till about 4 weeks ago. I’ve noticed lately that the 2nd hop (there are 3 EA hops) into the network is having problems again, which It had after the move. It’s depends entirely on how you are routed to them. This is a big reason why some people see the EA network as being a problem and others don’t. Sometimes you have no issues until you actually reach the EA side of things. Keith said as much when they first moved the servers and they were trying to optimise the connections. There are multiple back haul connections to the EA network from different ISPs. But sometimes it’s the connection from the back haul to the EA network. Most of the time it’s some congestion in the internet back haul. #Pingplotter reliable professional#Lots of professional network people use this to find problems. Yes, grab pingplotter ^^^ It’s the go to program to see if it’s you, the internet, the EA network or the servers. I've been on Star Forge several times today since morning and have had zero issues, so it is possible you have a back internet backbone in your route to the servers. as that will get the attention of Support if it in fact shows issues into the server gateway. You can also place your graphical plots from PingPlotter over on the EA support forum for SWTOR. That way you can tell exactly where the issue is occurring. #Pingplotter reliable free#You need to grab a free copy of PingPlotter and run some sessions to track your to/from route latency and packet losses to the server. I have reported this to customer service, but do not expect any sort of actual answer. Last two times after disconnecting I had no servers listed in the box that pops up after DSC. I have four bars, then 3, then red dot, followed by red X and then server disconnects. #Pingplotter reliable software#I have scrubbed my comp, rebooted modem and router, ran anti malware software in safe mode, updated all my drivers, and am still having this issue. They were working fine up until that point. Since about 10:30am Eastern time today I have been constantly bounced from the servers. ![]()
